Our Vision

At Damoya Art Artist Studios, our vision is to create a world where art is accessible to all. We believe that every person has the potential to be an artist, and we aim to provide the resources and support needed to make that a reality.

Mission Statement

Damoya Art Academy was inspired by a simple, heartfelt moment—a baby’s joyful shout of ‘Daddy Mommy Ya!’ This spirit of warmth, family, and discovery is at the heart of our mission: to inspire creativity and foster a lifelong appreciation for art in a welcoming, inclusive space. We believe that art has the power to transform and connect people of all ages and backgrounds, and we’re dedicated to creating an environment where every student—whether a child exploring art for the first time or an adult rekindling a passion—can express themselves fully. Through thoughtfully crafted programs, interactive showcases, and hands-on experiences, we encourage each artist to explore, grow, and discover their unique voice in our vibrant community.

Our Team

Jennifer Mazzucco

Jennifer Mazzucco is a multimedia artist and educator with a BFA from Hartford Art School and a Master of Education from Pace University. For over three decades she has fostered community engagement through shared workspaces and nonprofit art organizations. Jennifer’s recent solo show at Abrams Claghorn featured 65 pandemic-era paintings, and she has exhibited at various venues including group shows at the Compound Gallery, Emery Arts, and the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art. She currently teaches at Kala Institute, nurturing youth creativity in East Bay schools.

Joanne Wang

Joanne Wang is a multidisciplinary artist, fabricator, and educator based in Oakland, California. Through secondhand textiles, found objects, and intricate sewing techniques, she creates abstract soft sculptures and fiber art that reflect on themes of consumerism, labor, waste, and identity.

Alongside her personal art practice, Joanne works as a fabricator, producing custom art and displays for businesses and events. Her extensive experience in this field has exposed her to diverse mediums and techniques—including art installation, printmaking, woodworking, metalwork, casting, and mural painting—broadening her approach to art-making.

Joanne holds a BA in Art and Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Both her art practice and professional work are deeply rooted in sustainability, as she seeks to explore the intersections between discarded materials, consumer culture, and the natural beauty of our planet.

Dedicated to community engagement, Joanne shares her skills and inspirations through education. She currently teaches sustainable fashion design to children and teens in after-school programs and hosts private embroidery workshops across the Bay Area.
